Coping Strategies when you are undiagnosed.

Besides trying to get a diagnosis there are some things that make everybody feel better such as good refreshing sleep and healthy fresh food. It may sound trite to talk about these things and we all feel we have heard them a million times before but they are basic to feeling good even with a diagnosed disease.

Have you noticed that many people, when diagnosed with cancer, start to try and eat healthier and meditate, have less stress in their lifes, basically look after themselves.

LOOK AFTER YOURSELF

EATING HEALTHY: Does not have to be a major lifestyle change,  try just 1 or 2 of the things below that you feel you are not doing:

  • drink more water
  • eat a salad a day made from fresh ingredients
  • add a piece of fruit to your daily diet
  • eat less sugar
  • remove white starch in bread, pasta and biscuits
  • remove alcohol
  • eat specific foods known to boost the immune system
  • use virgin olive oil as your main fat

SLEEPING WELL:

  • set a regular bed time
  • have a shower or bath before bed
  • have a bed time routine

MEDITATE:

  • lie or sit quietly, concentrating on your breath

EXERCISE:

  • increase your exercise on a daily basis

Many complementary or 'alternative' medicines do not treat the name or diagnosis of a disease but the symptoms so these may be useful to try:

  • ACUPUNCTURE
  • AYURVEDIC MEDICINE
  • HOMEOPATHY
  • MASSAGE
  • PHYSIOTHERAPY
  • OSTEOPATHY
